County Health Organizations:
Medical facilities in the Monterey Bay Region: The Central Coast Health Connect is a community health information exchange to provide health information and secure medical data among physicians and patients.

The Central California Alliance for Health is a regional non-profit health plan that serves 328,486 members in Santa Cruz, Monterey and Merced counties. The Alliance focuses on improving access to health care for lower income residents by linking members to primary care physicians and clinics. 

Health Kids Santa Cruz County is devoted to improving the health of Santa Cruz County children by providing comprehensive health insurance coverage.

First 5 California was created to benefit children, prenatal to age five and their families by providing comprehensive early childhood development services The First 5 organizations of the Monterey Bay region can be found here:  
The Monterey Bay Region is also home to the organic food industry, having the oldest organic agriculture program in the country at UC Santa Cruz’s Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems, and large organic food companies like Earthbound FarmsSwanton Berry Farms, Lakeside Organic Gardens, Taylor Farms, Driscalls and vibrant farmers’ markets in every city.  From this ethos, many vitamin and supplemental food products companies have taken root, including Threshold EnterprisesSunOpta and Rainbow Light.

The public has been looking for ways to feel better, become rejuvenated, and stay healthy and fit. The Monterey Bay Region has already been part of that movement for years. Centers for physical and mental well-being, like Esalen institute in Big Sur, and Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, both cater to the needs of those searching for a more natural answer to health.
