Enjoy the Beautiful Coastal Climate

The climate of the Monterey Bay Region is regulated by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, resulting in a cool-summer Mediterranean climate. Most rainfall occurs between October and April, with little to no precipitation falling during the summer months.

During winter, snow occasionally falls in the higher elevations of the Santa Lucia Mountains and Gabilan Mountains that overlook the Monterey Bay. As for water temperature, ocean surfaces average in the low 50s all year.
