Events & Celebrations

Every town in the Monterey Bay Region can tout their own film festival, music festival, or various celebrations for food and wine. Even sports and recreation are celebrated in fantastic ways, and these events happen year-round. From the Artichoke Festival in Castroville to the Jazz Festival in Monterey.  From the Monterey Bay Birding Festival in Watsonville, to the Cabrillo Music Festival, there is something for everyone here in the region.

Monterey County is full of unique and interesting events every year. Come out and spot golf pros and celebrities at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The Big Sur Marathon and the Sea Otter Classic are musts for our local athletes. Soak in the excitement of the California Rodeo in Salinas. Concours d'Elegance draws scores of beautiful cars, and car enthusiasts, to our area, as does Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The Carmel Art & Film Festival, the Bach Festival, and the Monterey Jazz Festival are absolutely iconic to Monterey County.

Santa Cruz County is a vibrant, active community, with special events all year. The Wharf to Wharf Race and the Sandman Triathlon, as well as the O’Neill Coldwater Classic, utilize the unique layout of the coast to celebrate athletic strength, and power of the human spirit. The Watsonville Strawberry Festival celebrates the region’s primary harvest. The Capitola Art and Wine Festival has been held annually for over 30 years, and has been thoroughly enjoyed by all who visit. Every summer, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk hosts "Bands on the Beach", free on Friday nights. Events like Santa Cruz Shakespeare are nationally recognized.
