The Start Up Challenge
The springtime event brings entrepreneurs together with local angels, venture capitalists, consultants and support services, with cash prizes and technical services to the winners of three tracks: Student, Small Business (Main Street), and Venture. 

CSUMB Startup Weekend
Monterey Bay’s version of this international movement brings new and aspiring business owners together with seasoned speakers, startup coaches and business plan competition judges in a weekend of entrepreneurial inspiration.

Santa Cruz Works (SCW) is a public/private partnership of leading tech companies, investors, educational institutions and government in Santa Cruz.  The organization is focused on developing a successful science and technology eco-system in Santa Cruz County, which includes jobs, learning about company best practices, inter-company networking, technology transfer from our educational institutions, and fostering government policies which are supportive of the science and tech eco-system.

Pajaro Community Development Corporation
Pajaro CDC promotes equal access to economic opportunity.  The vision of the organization is to transform people’s lives through entrepreneurship. Since its inception, El P├íjaro CDC has focused on developing micro-enterprises and small businesses and has successfully assisted hundreds of small businesses with technical assistance, loan application and packaging, business plans, marketing, management, and business technology applications.

Monthly membership fees pay for workspace, Internet, conference rooms, business services and a place to bounce ideas off other creatives. Seven locations include the original space in Santa Cruz.

The Ideas of March
The Ideas of March is a three-day Android App development competition that brings together teams of students and software developers to work together on Apps for non-profits and small businesses in the Monterey Bay Region.
