Hack UCSC 2017
Now in it’s 3rd year, Hack UCSC is the premier hackathon for the Santa Cruz Monterey Bay.  Over 600 people will converge for 3 days to compete for $80,000 in cash and prizes. Themes include Technical Innovation, Ag Tech, and Cruz Cares - a focus on social and environmental issues.

Startup Monterey Bay Tech Bootcamps
Technology bootcamps are half day workshops to introduce new technology skills to students and community members, such as developing Google Apps. These bootcamps are pre-competition educational events to help those interested in participating in the Startup Monterey Bay Hackathon or Startup Weekend learn some exciting new tools prior to those events.  The event is open to all, with priority going to college students from the Monterey Bay region’s colleges and universities.

Startup Monterey Bay Hackathon 2016
(formerly Ideas of March – moved to Nov 2015 – right before Thanksgiving break) 
The Startup Monterey Bay Hackathon is a three day Android Mobile App development competition that brings together teams of students (from the Monterey Bay colleges and universities) to work together on Apps for non-profits and small businesses in the Monterey Bay area with the help of mentors.

Startup Weekend Monterey Bay 2017
Ever want to know what it takes to be an entrepreneur?  In just 54 hours, local entrepreneurs, business leaders, community members and students will converge to create businesses.  Startup Weekend connects local entrepreneurs, developers, designers and startup enthusiasts with mentors and resources. Throughout the course of this 54-hour event, attendees will share ideas, form teams and launch startups. This event is open to all.

Startup Challenge Monterey Bay
The Startup Challenge new venture competition is held at CSU Monterey Bay each year. The Challenge is an opportunity for prospective entrepreneurs, start-ups and emerging companies to showcase their ideas and business concepts, as well as compete for over $30,000 in prizes. 
When:                    Applications due March 13 th , 2017; Qualifying Round April 7 th , 2017;                                  Venture Showcase and Challenge Finals May 12 th , 2017.
