Lavera Alexander is an experienced strategist and facilitator focused on agile performance and transformative impact within the nonprofit sector. Her extensive background in cross-sector collaboration includes successful projects with the Department of Education, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Institutes of Health, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Newsom Administration. Certified in nonprofit leadership, Alexander possesses expertise in nonprofit management and optimizing nonprofit coalitions. With 20+ years of experience leading nonprofit alliances and loosely formed networks in the U.S. and internationally, she has a proven track record in major donor solicitation and cultivating public-private partnerships with diverse stakeholders. In addition to her roles as nonprofit strategist and facilitator, Alexander has held various leadership positions with nonprofit organizations, including Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Growth Officer, EVP of Human Resources, VP of Marketing, and board chair. She earned a bachelor's degree from Duke University, a master's degree from California State University, Northridge, and an executive certificate in nonprofit leadership from Duke University. She is an ASLSDI Fellow, a PhilD Fellow, and a member of the third cohort of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy PhilD program in Philanthropic Leadership at Indiana University.
